"Maging Sino Ka Man" is Love

This is really the best teleserye ever made.

I was expecting (and wishing) THAT TWIST to happen but I never imagined that it will happen that way. Sobrang galing pati ng execution.

Okay sige, unbelievable yung nahabol agad ni JB yung limo but I can ignore that and just relish the more important event.

You really have to watch this if you haven't.

Mishu, mishu

Kaya mo yan. Ikaw pa.

Because I can't get over him

Oookkkaaayyyy. Obsession na 'to. Hahahaha! He's too cute in this picture I couldn't resist posting it here. :) This would be the last entry about Lee Dong Wook. Itigil na 'to. Ahahahaha! Baka magmukha ng fan blog (?) ito.

Okay. Tama na. Aral na. Haha!

Patalastas...

Hahahaha!

Ewan. Basta nag-aral ako matuloy man o hindi.

Ayos!

What is Britney Spears doing?

Where did they hide the old Britney? We want her back. Somebody save her!

I could still remember when she released the song Lucky. I thought it was a sign of how unhappy she is with all the attention she is getting. Look at her now.

You really can't have it all. Sad.

Andito ako at walang magawa. Nakakainis.

We are morphing and evolving. Parang Pokemon.
Katakot.

V day!

It's Valentine's Day! Wahaha!

We went out to celebrate the day. Yes. We, the unattached ones, ate out on V day - and we are happy! Who wouldn't be? It's fun to be single on Valentine's day and laugh at how uncomplicated our lives are. Wala kaming problema at pinoproblema kaya masaya.

Am I such a pessimist when it comes to relationships?

Hmm...well, maybe. I just don't see the point of getting into one when I am completely happy and satisfied without it.

I am keeping an open mind.

Let's see.

A CSI Agent for a few hours

Lem and I went to the Manitoba Museum for the CSI challenge. We analyzed fingerprints, hair/fibers, and DNA found in the "crime scene" (above picture). After much thinking and going around the science gallery like grade schools do, we solved the "crime"! Hurray for us! Lem, pwede na tayo sa totoong CSI! We are lucky 'cause we got to do the CSI challenge without other people. Lalo tuloy namin feel na feel. Ahahaha!
I also realized how much the show CSI glamourized the job. Ang hirap maging investigator a kahit di naman totoo lahat.

***

We had fun in the Science Gallery. Lahat ata ng andun, pinakialaman namin. Haha.

A Sad Story

I found the perfect boots but I wasn't able to take her home.

Here's what happened:

I pushed my way inside the tiny shoe store hoping to find something nice for my feet. I am not planning to buy boots but I saw this baby sitting on the rack. I showed it to Mama and even her thinks it's pretty - and she isn't even fond of boots.

The lady of the store told me that it is the last pair they have and it is a 9. Yehey, I thought. Just right for me. So I tried it on BUT for some reason, it wouldn't fit.

The Size 9 pair of boots wouldn't fit!

I also picked up a pair of ballet flats and I asked the lady for a 9 BUT it also wouldn't fit so I asked for a 10.

Goodness, I don't know if their sizes are just small or my feet really grew. The 10 fitted me perfectly.

I ended up buying the flats instead (which is cute too) but I am sad about the boots. Hay.

You win Imelda. There's really a little bit of you in all of us. But ONLY a bit.

The Evidence that Showbiz and Politics Shouldn't Mix

This is the reason why Showbiz and Politics shouldn't mix. I only selected the "points" he made. You can read the whole article here. This is one Showbiz columnist's reaction to Leo Martinez' statement about

KWENTONG SHOWBIZ Ni Ernie Pecho
Ang Pilipino STAR Ngayon 02/11/2007

The article started with a short histroy lesson about Rogelio dela Rosa and how he should have been president, which, in my opinion, is unnecessary.

What the...?! This statement is followed by suggestions on how Gomez could win the elections. He also stated how Gomez' resources can cover the campaign expenses.

"Isang self-made man si Richard Gomez. Nagtagumpay siya sa kanyang
sariling pagsisikap.

So, his knowledge doesn't matter now? Just because he is loved by the masses, it means he is fully capable of being a lawmaker?

"Maraming mga artista na naging elected officials. Karamihan sa kanila ay naging mabuti at mahusay na lingkod-bayan tulad nina Vilma Santos, Bong Revilla, Rico Puno, Ishko Moreno, Rey Malonzo, Lou Veloso, Tito Sotto, ER Ejercito, Chiquito, Joey Marquez, Anjo Yllana, Jestoni Alarcon, Herbert Bautista at Aiko Melendez."

Research! Of all the people stated above, only Vilma Santos did an excellent job. The rest, never mind. Where are the evidences that these people did SOMETHING significant while they're in office?

Good luck sa intong lahat."

Really great.

Vilma is a mayor. She started out in her hometown and did great. But this isn't enough to say that these people from showbiz can do a great job in serving the people. This applies especially to those who have not experienced governing even a small baranggay but goes out and run for the Senate.

The really shallow view of this columnist reflects why we have a government like ours. We elect people who are not capable. We just don't learn from our mistakes.

Post-Imelda

After that article about Imelda Marcos with three images in it, I realized how I hate to publish entries with pictures! Ang panget tignan! Ang kalat!

Anyway, I have new things in mind.

  • Whoever pushed Manny Pacquiao to run for office deserves to go to hell. How could you? What's next? Manny donning one of your Hawaiian shirts?

For those who truly care about Manny, PLEASE don't vote for him! If you really look up to him and believe in him, don't put him in office.

  • I wonder who will vote for Tessie Oreta. After her Dancing Queen moment during Erap's impeachment trial, I think she already lost her credibility - if she had one.

  • I also wonder about Tito Sotto. He was senator a couple of times before but I could not remember him doing anything at all. Well, except for hosting Eat Bulaga.

  • I'm quite excited about the American Election. Yay! If Hilary wins, she would be the first female prez. If Barack wins, he would be the first African-American prez. Will this lead to a new USA? That remains to be seen.

  • Goma is out of the administration slate. He is said to be running independently. Whatever. Don't vote for him.

  • There's this article by one of my idols, Randy David, which discusses the reasons why people elect people from Showbiz but I'll post it in another entry.

Imelda Marcos

I couldn't think of a title for this entry but then I thought her name is enough to be a good one.

Imelda Marcos seems "in" this month. Her name is present in two international magazines. Yay!

Imelda answers George Wayne's questions! I heard about the article at CKJS and I decided to have a copy for fun. Haha!

Wayne asked her about bullet-proof bras, her New York trial, and, of course, her shoes.

Imelda is such a character. Really. If you haven't watched the documentary dedicated to her, you are missing so much.

imelda_caricatureDon't you love the caricature? It is so Imelda. So iconic! Haha!

If you want to read the whole article, you can find it at Vanity Fair's website. Just ignore the part where Borgy is mentioned.

Added info: The Imelda Collection was shown on Us Girls last month so if you have access to previous episodes (like me!), watch it! Everything in the Collection looks good on Angel Aquino.

You can also view the it at www.imeldacollection.com

This is a little something where Queen Imelda is mentioned.

Why?

Because it is about shoes.

No one could talk about shoes without mentioning the Queen.

Before I end this entry....

Quotable Quote from the Queen herself:
"As I say, there is little bit of Imelda in all of us"

Basta. Bahala na.

  • I agree with Leo Martinez.

If these actors are expecting their fame to win them senatorial seats, they should be ashamed. We don’t know anything about making laws. We did not study that)," Martinez said.

But knowing the those people, asa pa ko diba?

Hehe.
  • Bago nga pala ang heading nito ngayon. Nakikisabay sa Valentine's day. Hehe.

UM-Sigaw First Lunch Meeting

We had UM-Sigaw's First Lunch meeting last week. Argh. I was busy with schoolwork then got distracted by certain political issues that I forgot to actually write something about the event.

The Lunch went well - better than I expected. Not all of the members were able to go but still it was fun. It's nice to meet fellow Filipinos.

The people are nice and we had a good time. We ate Pinoy food, discussed things that they want to do in the group, their expectations, and a lot of other stuff. Some of the members are Canadian-born, most are not but that does not stop us from getting along. See? The two groups can mix. Wala yan sa kung saan ka pinanganak. We just need to open our minds, erase prejudice and give each other a chance. Of course for some it wouldn't be easy but believe me, you can do it because you have to. Buksan ang isip.

I am happy that we are taking this step. I am happy that we formed this group.

But of course, this is only the start.

***

I watched parts of Borat this afternoon. I skipped almost half of the movie 'cause I can't take Borat himself - not the movie or its message - it's him. Just my suplada self.

Sa mga napanood ko, favorite ko yung ininterview niya yung mga feminists then he said that he cannot understand what they say 'cause all he can think about is CJ (Pamela Anderson).

Frost in the Philippines?

It is 18 degree celsius in Manila, 5 in higher regions.

Wow.

I don't remember experiencing that kind of weather in Manila. 18 degrees? Did the city rise to higher altitude because of the increasing number of balloon-headed people in the government?

That temperature might be nothing to a lot of us living in cold places but in the Philippines, which usually has a 30 something temperature, this is BIG issue. Crops are dying in the Cordillera. Benguet farmers reportedly lost 10 million worth of vegetables due to the formation of frost.

What is happening to the Earth?

Artista o Pulitiko? Uhm, Both?

Political ads hit TV screens
By Aurea Calica
Publication Date: [Friday,
February 02, 2007]

Political advertisements have invaded television screens, signaling the start of the election season in a country where name recall is crucial for victory.

Actresses Tessie Tomas, Rio Locsin, Angel Locsin and Jennilyn Mercado have appeared in the commercial of Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. advocating women’s rights.

Sen. Edgardo Angara, a former education secretary, discusses his platform for education.

Bukidnon Rep. Juan Miguel "Migs" Zubiri capitalizes on the biofuels law that he authored while presidential chief of staff Michael Defensor settles for a simple ad introducing him as "’tol," or short for "utol," the street term for brother.

Defensor claimed the ad was conceptualized by his campaign handler, Boy Abunda.

Asked why he did not present any issue in his ad, Defensor said it was just an introductory commercial.

"Did you understand biofuel?" Defensor joked, alluding to an ally, Zubiri, who has the longest ad so far.

Zubiri also claimed to have bought the rights for the popular "Boom Tarat Tarat" tune popularized by a noontime TV game show.

Ahahahaha. Pa-cute ka hindi naman cute. Yun lang.
