Back and Blogging

Our Red and Gold Tree
Except for the last few posts which only required emo-ing and some copy and paste skills, I haven't really blogged so here I am making up for the lack of updates.

I can't believe that it is already the 22nd of December and 2011 is coming to a close. I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me that this year went by so fast. And yes, 3 more days and it's CHRISTMAS! I am in the holiday mood already and it's so hard to go to work especially when all my friends who are in university are having their Winter break. Yup "shopping" tweets while I'm there sitting in my office make me jealous!

Speaking of shopping, I started early this year but alas, I'm still missing gifts and I haven't really made an effort to buy them despite being in the mall practically everyday. So much for trying!

It's Christmas so parties and dinners are scheduled all month! And because a number of my friends have their birthdays this month and also because friends who left the city are coming back, I think we have at least one dinner each week scheduled. Ahhh the calories but hey, it's the holidays. I think we all have an excuse to indulge and be merry.

Last week, my friends and I went to Hermano's for our Christmas party. Grabe. Their Latin Crepe is SUPERB!!! Ahh nakakaloka yung biglang nag-ooze out ang Dulce de Leche after I put my fork in it. Feeling ko nasa Junior Master Chef ako. Hahaha! And yeah, I got MAC Russian Red lipstick from my Secret Santa Syb! I'm so loving RED this season.

Anyway, tomorrow there's another partaaay! Excited to be off work early tomorrow! Hurray for the long weekend! Happy holidays!

Hello, December

You Who Never Arrived
Rainer Maria Rilke

You who never arrived
in my arms, Beloved, who were lost
from the start,
I don't even know what songs
would please you. I have given up trying
to recognize you in the surging wave of
the next moment. All the immense
images in me -- the far-off, deeply-felt landscape,
cities, towers, and bridges, and un-
suspected turns in the path,
and those powerful lands that were once
pulsing with the life of the gods--
all rise within me to mean
you, who forever elude me.

You, Beloved, who are all
the gardens I have ever gazed at,
longing. An open window
in a country house-- , and you almost
stepped out, pensive, to meet me. Streets that I chanced
       upon,--
you had just walked down them and vanished.
And sometimes, in a shop, the mirrors
were still dizzy with your presence and, startled, gave back
my too-sudden image. Who knows? Perhaps the same
bird echoed through both of us
yesterday, separate, in the evening...
